Music Pier
Ocean City Pops | Stockton Goes to the Beach Series
The Ocean City Music Pier, located on the Boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace, was constructed in 1928 at a cost of $248,000. It is home to year-round entertainment, including the Ocean City Pops Orchestra. The Pops has been playing in Ocean City for more than 80 years, the longest running musical series at the New Jersey Shore. The Music Pier features a variety of shows from stand up comedy to musicals. Various pageants call the Music Pier their home including the Miss New Jersey pageant.
The Music Pier has undergone major restoration which includes an enlarged stage, new lighting and sound system and the addition of new technical equipment. It is one of two structures of its kind in the United States. (The other is located in California.) The Pier extends 300 feet over the beach and ocean.
